How many of you are like me, and your writing life is in large part a secret?
I don't talk about it much, I never talk about it to work personnel. I rarely discuss my writing with my husband, or even family.
Most of that is from fear of criticism. And to make it worse, it's only the last six months or so that I've really been trying to network and connect with people.
I don't like the spotlight. Which is strange, considering my former lifestyle. However, it was a small club in a medium city. And when the stage did get packed, I did feel self-conscious.
I want to be more of a puppeteer-send a fantastic book out into the world and watch people enjoy it from afar (while collecting royalty checks, of course.)
I have given up on my writing several times. Swore it off, convinced that I will never make anything of it. Too much of the motivation was from the drive to make money off of it. Man, that was a mistake. Honestly, it's only been within the last two years that I've turned from that motivation to a pure inner motivation.
I'm working on being bold with my writing- demanding time for it and making good use of that time (i.e. staying off my phone.)
I eat, sleep and dream about it, my heart thrums for it. I can't get over it, so I might as well get on with it.
Hope you're all growing as writers (and people!) too.

p.s. This post was in part motivated by the Harry Potter & J.K. Rowling's birthdays and the release of the Cursed Child- I was thinking back to when I first discovered those books and just how amazed I was by the world within. #JKRowlingWentBold

Horner Nach Unten
Another day off spent in a tired funk. I'm not sure how much of my sleepiness is actual sleepiness, or depression.
I'm not really depressed. I think I'm just burned out from this job, and physically overworked and stressed at not making enough money. Also, it's been a bummer not really getting many responses from the applications I've put in all over. I think it's very strange that this time last year when I was job hunting, with a less stellar resume, I had calls from all over the place. This time, its been a trickle.Wtf Syracuse area?
Remember that novel I was working on earlier this year that I accidentally erased? I think I might pick it up again, and do two at once. The characters are banging around in my head, and it's easier to work on when I'm in a stormy mood.
Alright, I'm heading downstairs to cook some bacon and make coffee. We're making feta cheese stuffed burgers with bacon (shit, I just remembered I forgot to get mushrooms) for dinner and the coffee is for me. Now. So I can be a little productive.

The Thong Thursdays of Past Days....
Good morning, y'all.
I'm listening to my iPod, and having music blasting in my ears is making crave the stage.....but not my old one. A cleaner one, with more room to roll around :D I wish I had been able to really conquer the spinning pole, but alas extreme vertigo and nausea always followed. A non-spinning pole is no problem, other than the occasional painful pole burn. Yes, pole burn is very similar to rug burn, but usually involves more sensitive areas, har har. Ow.
Life has been very good to me lately, this is the most stable and healthy than its been for about ten years. I have an amazing, supportive boyfriend who's also my best friend. We's like peas and carrots, y'all <3
Cashiering is interesting. People come through my line from all walks of life, some are cool and you can crack jokes with them and chat, some are so damn miserable. I always wonder about the super bitchy customers, I wonder if that's their normal state of affairs or whether they are maybe just having a super shitty day. Perhaps they just lost a loved one, or their house is being repossessed, who knows?
Ok, I need to end this and get to work on other stuff. My final paper is due Sunday, and then I'M DONE! At least with this degree. I'm undecided whether I will pursue a Bachelor's in future, but it will not be happening for at least a year. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will miss the higher education system eventually, after at least a whole year, haha.
And even though I am several years behind on achieving this goal, oh well. Nothing I can do about that now. Plus, I feel like I got a damn good, well-rounded education during the four-ish years it took to get here. Schooled in various heavy subjects, like math, science, business, nakedness, marriage & divorce, mental illness, and life. Oh, and bacon. Can't forget the bacon lessons.
